A favorite because it was the one and only time I was able to see Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart, perform live. The Captain was so tied up in conflicting contracts and pretty much a failed tour in 74 that Frank took him out on the road with him as part of the Bongo Fury tour that spring. He sat on an amp most of the time sketching pictures in a big sketch pad and got up near the end to sing Willie the Pimp. It was worth it.
